“This is strictly a personal training studio,” says Body & Soul owner and operator Angela Longstaffe. “We do not have a membership gym.” It’s a tight operation: the floor is designed for a maximum of six clients to allow for intensive, focused exercise.
This is a place for people who are serious about their health: clients at the studio purchase a personal training package based on their individual needs, and that purchase is a strong commitment. The clientele is diverse: “Right now we have clients between the ages of 14, a male, and 92, a grandmother. She comes regularly, three times a week, for training.”
Asked about the various goals her clients state when signing up, Angela says, “For the majority of our clients, our services are not about losing this or that number of pounds. Our clients see this as something they need to do to stay healthy.” It’s a long-term endeavor — not so much an endpoint as a way of living.
