The Golden AppleConfectionery is Stephanie Cart's brainchild, an idea she brought to life in 2012.
"I worked for a chocolate shop throughout high school and university," Stephanie explains. "I learned a lot about the trade there and eventually began making caramel apples on the side, for friends and families, weddings and other type of events. Eventually, being fresh out of school, I started wondering about which industry I'd like to work in and realized that confectionery was what I wanted to do all along."
So Stephanie went back to school at George Brown College to study professional chocolate making. "Upon completing my certificate, I opened up shop and I've been here ever since."
"It's great because I'm always learning something new, be it on the artisanal side or in the running of the business. And now, I'm back in classes again, to study even more advanced chocolatier techniques to make sure The Golden Apple Confectionary is as great as can be."
