With the International Jazz Festival in late June drawing some incredible acts, the city is becoming known for some of its cool venues. But don't wait till the festival to catch some class acts. Order some food and sit back with a glass of wine or a bourbon, and listen to some sultry jazz at one of these fantastic Vancouver venues.
It’s easy to eat, drink and be merry at this popular spot in Gastown. Housed in a century-old heritage building and furnished with Victorian-era antiques, the old-world style watering hole is equal parts refined and relaxed. Classic cocktails are paired with sophisticated comfort cuisine – think spaghetti and meatballs with fresh basil, baked oysters or grilled chicken with chimichurri. The bar hosts live jazz musicians every Sunday night, making it a great spot to end the weekend.
This beloved Commercial Drive haunt attracts a steady stream of locals from day to night with its tasty eats, rotating craft beer taps and live jazz performances on Thursdays and Sundays. The café and bar hosts an eclectic mix of local Vancouver bands as well as visiting performers from across the country. The Ouisi is a New Orleans-inspired restaurant on Granville Street. Besides their scrumptious Cajun and Creole cuisine, they also host regular live music events. Their drink menu boasts a large selection of good whiskeys, bourbons and single malt scotches, so you won’t go thirsty here.
Revel Room is a popular Gastown location for drink connoisseurs who appreciate finely mixed liqueurs and delicious southern cuisine. They often feature live jazz throughout the week, so keep an eye on their schedule, or just pop in if you’re in the 'hood to see what’s going down.

Displace Hashery has live music on Tuesdays, as well as live events on other nights of the week. Drop in for some food and visit one of the city’s most popular patios. Try their specials menu while you’re there, including $3.50 lagers, wine and spirits on Tuesdays.
Pat’s Pub is located in the Patricia Hotel in the Downtown Eastside. They have plenty of food and beer, as well as regular performances by great jazz artists. Check their website for listings and come experience the ambiance that has made this hotel one of the city’s premier jazz spots since 1914.
