Ate at Kori's for 10+ years, multiple times per week. Moved to Burlington and found this place. Today experienced a weird thing. When I poured my gravy over the roti, my mouth began to water uncontrollably. Ate this piece of heaven in minutes flat and can't believe how good it is. Better than Kori's is not something I'd say lightly, but it just might be. Best food in Burlington? Absolutely!
Every time I go to this place I always try to convince myself that I only going for 1 Roti but I always and i mean ALWAYS end up leaving with 1 or 2 more extra to eat for later. I use to go to Koris but this place is 10 times better. The food is authentic and theres variety of foods to choose from. The pepper sauce is home made and by far the best I've tasted!
This place is awesome. I have had roti from many places around the gta, and this is BY FAR the best roti. The roti skins are so tender and yummy, as is the beef. They get the heat right, extra hot burns!!!! It is hard to find a place that can make things hot hot hot!!! (of course you dont have to get it spicy if you dont want!) The place is nothing fancy, and there is usually a big line up during the lunch hour. I usually do take out, as seating can also be jammed up at lunch. YOU MUST TRY THIS PLACE!!!
I couldn't help but notice all the hype this store's been getting through the site, and it was not unjustifiably so. This place is clever, one of a kind, and the food is pretty good too! Rotis are certainly filling, and the hot sauce did not disappoint. My one preconception was that this place would tone down the spice because it didn't want to scare off customers, but that appears to be wrong. The rotis themselves are a huge meal. Roti bread filled with Curry and potatoes make for a very satisfying meal. Too bad there wasn't a side salad offered. portion size could be cut down and it wouldn't have to be so expensive. ($8.00 for a large?) Then again, all that starch made the meal very filling. The storefront is fun and cheerful, but it presents itself as a take-out place. By the other reviews on this place, I'd assume that it's main clientele are the business lunch orders. Hooray for D hot Shoppe!
Its really nice to have variety, if you want a nice spicy authentic Roti as apposed to a burger or sub for the same price, this is the place to go. Quick and tasty!
